Windows 7: BSOD when trying to Install Windows

That implies the problem lies with the 530. Did you run the CLEAN command? Are you able to try a different SSD/HDD?

That would be a completely reasonable assumption except that the Intel 530 was purchased brand new to replace a Samsung EVO that I thought was the problem. I've also tried the install with another drive that I have on hand, that worked fine when it was removed, and the result was the same. So I feel like I've all but eliminated the possibility of drive failure. Simply because what's the chance I could have three bad drives? Although believe me when I say the thought has crossed my mind.

The only thing I can figure is there is something wrong with the board that creates a disk access problem for Windows. It seems a little far fetched, but the way it fails is consistent. Nothing I've been able to do seems to have any impact the outcome.

Golden, I ended up buying another ASUS motherboard after a rather disappointing experience with their Customer Service department. I thought this would finally trigger the end of my problems, but unfortunately they persist.

After getting everything set back up with the new motherboard I did perform the CLEAN command install procedure you described. Much to my dismay the system froze while working in the console window. Once when simply inputting the next step toward cleaning the disk and then again after trying to execute the clean. And by frozen I mean no blinking cursor and the mouse was no longer responding.

So after all of this, I'd take any more advice you or anyone else may have, but I think my problem may lie with the Processor or possibly the power supply. I may just RMA them both if there aren't any better ideas.

Well, I just experienced my first Blue-screen error with the new motherboard. Here's what I did.
  • First, I recreated the USB installer from the ISO I downloaded from Microsoft. This froze up as it has been doing.
  • Next, I tried burned the ISO to a DVD and tried installing with that. This produced a Blue-screen error of 0x0000001E.

One thing I noticed is that the SSD is occasionally "frozen" after an install attempt. Through the BIOS I'm able to change this status using the SSD secure erase feature, but this is rather strange.

So right now I'm thinking the following.
  • RMA the power supply or motherboard.
  • RMA the new Intel SSD (how could it be bad already?).

I don't know what else there is to try?
