    Welcome to the forum breelynne,

Please remove McAfee for testing purpose.

Recommended antivirus software for Windows 7 based on stability compared to others:-

       Warning
Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

    Reduce items at start-up:

    Perform a clean boot:

Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information. I will try to get to these things tonight after I back up my files.
HP offered me another PC today but of course it is crap.
I been having ongoing issues since April. It was overheating, it needed a BIOS update but there were no updates on their site for one. Finally got a hold of a tech who knew where to look.
I did have Malware Bytes on the PC but they had me uninstall it stating it was causing the issue...a conflict
