BSOD Driver Power State Failure

In your files, I only found 2 dump files, about a month apart. If you are having daily BSODs, please be sure your computer is configured to create small memory dumps. this will help you Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD Pleas use the steps listed to create small memory dumps.

The first dump was on 5-9

The second dump was in July of 2012 So really is of little importance at this point. However, I would suggest you update your Nvidia driver to the latest WHQL version I would also use this method to insure you get a clean install. NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems

I would also, after doing the above like you to Open a elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know the results.

geografx, any updates on your issue? Or, have you resolved the problem on your own?

When you updated the drivers, did you follow that tutorial I posted exactly? Please look in add/remove programs in control panel and tell me which entries are there that start with 'Nvidia'.

Go to the motherboard's web site for your specific motherboard and check for updated chipset and USB 3.0 drivers for the devices you have installed. The USBHUB is most likely the USB 3.0 drivers but the chipset normally has the Drivers for USB 2.0 ports.

Also, have you run all of the Windows updates? if not do so and check after you run them until it says there are no more updates.

Also, several of the older updates blame memory corruption as the cause. Memory corruption can cause numerous errors that blame different drivers. If the suggestions above do not solve your problems, please advise me.

Also, please re read this tutorial and make sure your dump files are set right . I know you did this before, but please check and make sure nothing has changed. Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD. Use option 1 #6 or option #2 number 2, to create small memory dumps.

geografx, can you be a little bit more descriptive about what your computer is doing. First re you getting true BSODs? they should look like this.



Also, is there any particular program you are using when the BSODs occur? Is there any particular ting you are doing when they occur? Are you having any unusual things your computer is doing? Any information about unusual actions that are occurring may help identify the exact issue. Also, make sure your system specs in my system specs at the bottom left corner are up to date and as specific as possible. This may assist you.

OK, you need to find out exactly where your Nvidia files are kept. Search for Nvidia display drivers. It will be a folder usually in C:/Nvidia but could be someplace else. Find the display drivers folder and delete everything in it, but do not delete the display drivers folder itself, just the contents. change the Windows update settings first to keep Windows from automatically installing a display driver. Uninstall Nvidia PhysX, then Nvidia GeForce experience, and last delete the NVidia display driver. Do it in that exact order. It will tell you to reboot, do so. When windows starts back up it will install a graphics adapter, which is OK. Then open the new display driver you should have already downloaded. Install the drivers, bit be sure to select custom install and be sure the 'clean install' check box is checked. Install only the drivers you need. You have to install the display driver and the PhysX driver. Install the 3D items if you need and use them. The point of the tutorial is do not install anything you do not need and use. Nobody uses the Nvidia HDMI driver. You have on board sound or a sound card driver, which is in most cases Realtek. The Nvidia HDMI driver can conflict with the Realtek driver. So, install what you need. But nothing you don't need. it will install everything that is checked. Uncheck anything you don't use, but leave checked everything you do need and use. Once this is finished you should have as clean an install as possible, and nothing you don't need and use which can complicate things. So, yes install the 3D settings you need, but nothing you don't.
