Had BSOD twice and not sure if it hardware or driver

There's no way to pinpoint the slot that having the troubles?

The MemTest86+ showed one red line and and wrote something like model number that may be on the ram card sticker

I let it rescan again for 8 hours and it just got to pass 3, so I quit, it showed however more then 600 errors in the error section and showed one red line of error

Unfortunately not. How many sticks of RAM do you have installed? If it's a kit of two sticks you'd be better off replacing them both anyway with another kit. Is it still under warranty? If so an RMA would be in order.

I have 4 sticks of Corsair Vengeance Low Profile (LP) version 16 GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz

I spend all day testing them one by one but I tested them wrong and didn't wait for 1 pass (waited for 20% of a pass since the issue was supposed to appear immodestly) I saw that the issue didn't appear on each memory card and on each slot after short test for each, I thought that it may was due to dust or something but knew that 600+ errors didn't felt like dust issue at all

I retest them again after all stick were in place and the errors start to occur again but really slowly (after half pass)

then I understood that it was foolish of me to stop the test too soon when I tested them one by one (1 pass take a hour.. and I didn't had much time... so that way I was in a rush)


From the test though I don't think it the slots.. since if it was the slots the issue would appear immediately correct? (can you tell me from your experience if I'm right?)


I saw on some forums today that Corsair Vengeance LP (and most Corsair these days) tend to die faster, I mostly used G.skill in the past and thought that Corsair were superior to them but I may was wrong, in case it just the RAM cards I think about buying new one.. but my budget don't allow me at the moment to buy something better... just ram with the same settings will do, do you have any suggestions ?

I want to buy at least something that in the same specs of my current ram


How G.Skill 4x4GB DDR3 1600Mhz Ares Quad Channel CL9-9-9 in your opinion ?

They seem to have the same specs (beside having 9-9-9-24 in the end xD what it means?)

My personal suggestion would be Kingston HyperX Genesis or Fury @1600MHz, I know a lot of users including myself who have that RAM and have never heard of any going faulty.

I buy new ram (it still didn't arrived) and I took the faulty one out, right now I'm still with the old one
But I've notice that I have another weird issue that I'm not sure if it from the ram

Every since I replace my hard drive (was some weeks ago and at the point I start to get the BOSD from the ram) my OS started to "stammer" or "leaping"

It will give me random "freezes" for less than a sec on random times, it really hard to notice but there.

at first I thought it was my mouse since it mostly visible on cursor but I've notice that it also there when I do other stuff on the OS, could it still be the ram issue? the system shows that it still don't updated with the hardware changes on the system properties menu and I don't really want to update it until my ram will arrived, also the auto hardware detection that win7 do on every Sunday at midnight is off on my system :P (was annoying so I turn it off)


Could it be the mobo? ,GPU?, CPU?, driver?

my CPU and GPU don't show any signs of being faulty and can ran high end games for hours without getting any BSOD or over heated

a faulty ram can effect the mobo?

I forgot to mention that all of my HDDs were tested with Crystal Disk Info last version, they all seem fine, moreover I have three HDDs with the exact same model and I got them all from the same person, the two first I got year ago and they working fine, the last one was some weeks ago and I replaced it with some third Hitachi drive that I had which start show signs that it have bad sectors, the OS worked like a charm even then (without the stammers and the OS was installed on other HDD of course)

the issue start to show itself after the new HDD installation... but than again a BSOD popped up and showed that it was the ram... which after tests prove to be true
