BSOD at random times

In the past week I have gotten two BSODs and one time the computer froze no matter what I pushed I couldn't unfreeze it. I think it has something to do with Microsoft-Windows-WLAN-AutoConfig. The first time it crashed this way was when I was playing Backyard Baseball, the second time was when I was browsing the net.Then the computer freezed when starting up a game called frozen synapse. Nothing else seems particular about the crashes except when I looked at the event log it said the source of the problem was Microsoft-Windows-WLAN-AutoConfig. There was nothing in the event viewer about the freeze.

I installed the driver but driverscanner still says it is old.I downloaded the win7 64 version for the first version. Maybe I did it wrong. I really wish device manager could actually do it's job and update drivers itself. I must be stupid because I can not do it manually.

What driver scanner is that?

Focus on the part about pointing it to the file you downloaded after unzipping it.

When you first replied there was a link to the site before the wireless adapter link, now it is gone. I think I downloaded the driver ok now. Just searched up Driver scanner and supposedly it is not reliable so I uninstalled it.

I already installed it manually through the way shown on that page. Is there any driver programs that are legit? If not oh well I did what I needed to do. Thanks for the help though, I knew I should of gotten a new wireless adapter or at least updated my old adapter's drives.

Driver programs are usually more trouble than good, we see all kind of problems related to them.

Good to hear you got it installed, it's always best to get them from the manufacturers anyway.

I did notice there were multiple instances of that adapter in your msinfo32 file, like it had been installed a bunch of times.

It must install itself every time I remove it and put it in. As long it is not a problem I will mark the thread solves.

No that's not a problem, just a bit of info.

You can mark it solved if you want, you may want to wait a while to make sure.

Either way, if you continue to get crashes just post back. :)
