    Bsod - page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

    Hello!

Just recently I've became interested by the game "Company of Heroes 2" and decided to try it out. Every time I start a new skirmish I can play for about 5-10 minutes and then either the game freezes or my computer gets a BSOD with the error message "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA". I play a lot of other games aswell that are even more demading (graphics wise) and then my computer does just fine. I have got a few BSODs from one of the other games, but that happens extremely rare and that was on their "testing server". But when I try to play Company of Heroes 2, I get either a game-freeze or a windows BSOD every time after 5-10 minutes.

Worth telling is that I currently haven't bought Company of Heroes 2, I've downloaded a cracked version just to try it out before I buy it. I've planned to buy it because I want to play online, but after these BSODs I'm really doubtful of buying the game as I'm not sure if I'll experience the same thing with the bought copy.

I've really tried to figure out what the problem to these BSODs might be, and from my mind I've come up with this:

    - It can't be hardware related because then I would propably experience problems when my computer just started and I would definetly not be able to play other games without problem.
    - It can't be driver related because then I wouldn't be able to run other games without problems.

    Other things I've tried is:
    - I've run the windows memory diagnosis and it detected no problems.
    - I've installed the latest ATI graphics drivers (version 13.9).

I've built my computer myself and the specs are:
    - Windows 7 Ultimate x64
    - AMD Phenom II X4 965
    - 4GB RAM
    - ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series

I'd appreciate it so much if you guys could help me out with this frustrating problem :)

I've now also tried to close down Daemon Tools Lite before starting the game, and it made it a bit better. After doing this I could run the game 3-4 times without any BSOD, then the game itself just crashed back to my desktop. However, the BSOD still occurs every now and then, and often enough to not "feel like" other games.

    Hello there!

Almost all the crashes are pointing to ATI drivers. I would recommend to do a driver clean up then reinstall it. Use this tool to uninstall it completely Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 12.9.4.0

Then I noticed ASACPI.sys which is dated 2005 is known cause for BSOD. C:\Windows\System32\Drivers and rename ASACPI.sys to ASACPI.bak.

It's a good idea to apply all Windows update including Service pack 1 update. So please update your Windows
