While I'm at it, can anyone recommend me a free CD-bootable Virus Scanner in IOS form? Want to be sure that it's only the RAM causing my problems.

Alright, well this has been a bit too frustrating, and seeing as I have a week until classes end, I'm going to go ahead and do a fresh install of Windows 7. I also went ahead and ordered two new 4GB RAM sticks through Amazon and await their arrival tomorrow. If the error still persists thereafter, I'll order a new SSD (the most likely culprit).

After attempting to install Windows 7 again on my SSD, my worries were confirmed. I'm not sure if two years is the expected lifespan of an SSD, but I guess that's the end of that. The errors in the sticks of RAM were coincidental, but I've since had them replaced =)

    Solved. Cheers.

    Conclusion: Failing SSD
