BSOD after downgrade from windows 8 to windows 7 0x00000116 (atigmpag.

After downgrade from windows 8 to windows 7, I have a BSOD problem from time to time, mainly when I'm watching some movies using wmp, or videos on youtube. I would be very grateful if someone help me. Thank you.

    Hi PewnieJerzy.

    There is dual graphics.

    • The inbuilt processor graphics in the AMD Richland APU: AMD Radeon HD 8650G
    • The dedicated GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7600M Series

Both the GPUs are controlled by the driver atikmpag.sys. So at this stage it is difficult to determine which one is actually failing. You have to apply them alone, one by one, to judge and decide about the situation.

Troubleshooting will be different for either case.

Either in Catalyst Control Center or in the BIOS, you will find the option to use either of the GPUs as the primary one and disable the other. First set the Radeon HD 7600M Series as the primary one. See how it goes.

    Let us know the result.

I'm not that familiar with CCC but in the Nvidia control panel you can select which is the Primary graphics card under Global settings. You can even choose which card to use for each program, choose either one but stay with the same one for every program.
