Multiple different BSODs over a span of roughly a year and a half.

    Hello all,

I've been receiving intermittent BSODs for a long time now and I'm running out of ideas on what to try to get it fixed. I've reinstalled windows, I've replaced RAM, I've replaced my GPU and tried using other forums to get to the bottom of the issue to no avail. If you want to see previous recent progress on what I have tried, you can find it here:

Keep BSODing, want to get to the bottom of it. - bit-tech.net Forums

I have attached a copy of the zip from the DM Log Collector.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For further information, they don't seem to happen when anything specific is going on. I've had them when browsing, when gaming, when on skype etc. I don't think I've received one yet while my computer is idle, it has always been during use. My temperatures are around 58c when my CPU is at full load and 70c when my GPU is at full load. I have run Driver Verifier and it was BSODing when trying to uninstall the Xonar DG drivers, so I turned it off and removed them but I am still getting BSODs.

I'm not really sure what else to try but if there's any other information you need, I am more than happy to provide it.

    Hi Xileize.

Update the driver to HD Pro Webcam C920. Support + Downloads: HD Pro Webcam C920 - Logitech

    Let us know the result.

BTW, did you have a sound card installed at any time, like ASUS Xoner? Let us know. Because this answer will be highly important.

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.
    Arguments:
Arg1: ffffffffc0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: fffff88007b2ef86, The address that the exception occurred at
    Arg3: fffff88006b6d898, Exception Record Address

    DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)
A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and 0xA will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.
    Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000062, A driver has forgotten to free its pool allocations prior to unloading.
Arg2: fffffa800781fd48, name of the driver having the issue.
Arg3: fffffa800798d510, verifier internal structure with driver information.
    Arg4: 000000000000001b, total # of (paged+nonpaged) allocations that weren't freed.
Type !verifier 3 drivername.sys for info on the allocations
that were leaked that caused the bugcheck.

    Hello,

I have downloaded and installed the drivers for my C920 Webcam.

To answer your other question, I do have an Asus Xonar DG PCI card installed in my PC that I don't use. I ran driver verifier a while ago to try and get to the bottom of my issue and forgot that I had turned it on. On Wednesday, I decided to uninstall the Xonar DG software because I don't use the card and Driver Verifier threw a BSOD every time I tried. Since then I have turned off Driver Verifier and uninstalled the software, but the card is still in my system as I haven't turned my PC off and taken it out yet. Will this have left corrupt drivers lying about on my system?

    Apparently.

Though it was caused by the driver verifier (0xC4). And as you are aware of it and already have taken precautions, I think we can consider it as less significant ATM.

Unfortunately, through all the BSODs I've had, I haven't noticed a pattern. My GPU was very old and overheating (8800GTX), which I replaced with a 560Ti. This occurred right before the month or so I didn't get BSODs, and I thought that it fixed the problem. Once I started getting them again I decided to memtest all my RAM and one of them came back with an error, so I replaced those and it's still BSODing. I will say that I have not run memtest on the new RAM that I bought, however. I may need to do this as I did purchase used DDR2 RAM.

I have also run prime95 on my PC at least twice in the last month overnight and there were no problems at all.

Its a bad history, mate. Let us see how far we can do.

First let us wait and observe how the computer runs after updating the webcam driver?

Sure thing. I'll post back here in either a week or so, or after it BSODs again, whichever comes first!

Thank you very much for your help so far.

Just a quick update to let you know that I haven't had a BSOD since the 8th of August when I updated the Webcam drivers and uninstalling/removing my Xonar DG card.

Knock on wood that I won't have any more problems, but if I do I'll let you know.

    Thanks for your help!

That is a reasonably long time. So we are considering the issue as solved.

If the issue bounces back, just unmark and continue. I will be subscribed. :)
