Win7 unable to start-Startup repair fails-Problem signature 07 BadDisk
Hello All,
Hope you are doing well. Before I go one to explain my predicament, my system specs are given below.
1. Samsung Ultrabook Series 5 - Model NP530U3C-A01UK
2. Processsor - Intel Core 5-3317U CPU @1.70 Ghz
3. Windows 7 Hope Premium - 64 Bit OS
4. No Optical Drive
From last few days Windows has been warning me saying there is a problem with my Disk and I should backup. But whenever I ran Windows backup I never succeded. I should have backed up my files atleast but the lazy bum that I am, I did not do that. One fine day my system went to sleep and it was unable to wake up. When I tried to hardboot it, it went to Windows Start Up repair. After the Startup repair ran, it came up with the disgnostic results saying cannot startup because of Bad hard disk. Even when i try to start up in the safe mode, it still goes to Startup repair. I tried the other options in the Startup repair but to no avail. I tried a bunch of options using command prompt like FIXMBR but still no use.
I am out of warranty so cannot go to samsung.Could you please help me in terms of what I can do? Some of the questions on my mind are:
1. Since the laptop doesnt have a CD Drive, is it possible to run recovery software froma USB Stcik? If yes, where can I find the recovery software?
2. Would I be able to retrieve the data from my hard disk?
3. How do I for sure know that the hard disk is gone?
Any help is greatly appreiated. Thanks in advance.
With regards,
Avisesh.
