Im doing a clean install now. Since the rivers are not available from the GIGABYTE site, do you think this is a good alternative? Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 (rev. 1.0) drivers for Windows 7
I honestly have no idea. I never use drivers from any place other than the manufacturer's web site or Intel's web site.. I don't know anything about that site. Windows will install most of the drivers for you. Download your Graphics driver and maybe the Lan driver, so you can get online in case Windows does not have a driver for it. After you have installed the graphics driver, run all the windows updates and keep checking until there are no more. Then look in device manager and anything missing will have a yellow icon on it. I had to do my Daughter's Laptop that way and it worked out real well. Windows had all but 1 driver for it. A couple of days later, it installed it.
Well, it has been a while... Thanks for all the support this far, i really appreciate it
I wanted to make a clean install an thought "if you make it new make it right"... so I got myself a Windows 7 x64 Ultimate before doing a clean install so i can use the full amount of RAM my PC has.
Besides a ton of Windows updates i only installed 4 things:
- Chipset driver
- LAN Driver
- Audio Driver
- NVIDIA graphics driver
All of them from the Manufactures website and i made sure its the x64 version for Windows 7
I didnt think it would work, but i was able to play a video game just from the installed files. So i played Counter Strike GO for few hours and it worked just fine.
I wanted to see if I get a BSOD, so if I get one i can narrow it down to the few thinks I have installed.
The next day i started the game up again... After a few minutes I got a BSOD: 0X0000004E
What do you think? It has to be the graphics card right? Since i got it after installing a new graphics driver in the first place
It could be, but could also be the motherboard or PSU. The motherboard and PSU are the 2 things you almost cannot test. If you will upload Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions I'll look at it and see.
I would also try
Please Run Memtest86+
InformationPlease download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip
Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 passes to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it is best to run overnight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask
Here are the files... I'll look into Memtest86 and give you the Results.
That could be bad ram or a bad driver, but because you have just done a clean install and there are few drivers, I suspect memory. At this point, don't install anything else.Code:******************************************************************************* * * * Bugcheck Analysis * * * ******************************************************************************* Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information. wankoelias, Where did you get your copy of Windows Ultimate? The copy you have is an OEM_SLP key for an Acer/Gateway/. It cannot be installed on a Retail board such as yours. It is valid only on the Computer is came from the factory installed on. The only way to activate it is to alter system files, which makes the operating system unstable and impossible to debug, as the results are unreliable. Please get a legal copy of Windows 7 and if you still have problems, we can assist you then.
