Multiple drives receiving BSOD on new computer
I just built a new computer and am trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on a 500GB Crucial SSD. I tried using the disk drive with a Windows 7 CD, but the computer did not recognize it. I then tried installing from a flash drive, which managed to make it to the Windows setup screen, but then did not recognize that the SSD was plugged in. I tried again with a regular Western Digital 500GB drive and got the same result.
Both drives do work, the WD has been my main drive for years and the SSD I confirmed is readable/writable and I have correctly formatted it using the Drive Management menu. I can also see both drives in the BIOS menu.
I tried installing Windows using my old computer and it loaded perfectly onto the SSD, however when I try to boot from the SSD or the WD using the new computer, I get a BSOD flashed across the screen. (Unfortunately, it's way too fast to see what the error code is.)
I suppose it could be an issue with installing Windows using the wrong motherboard that is causing the BSODs, but that doesn't explain why only the new computer doesn't recognize my hard drives.
