BSOD multiple times, error code unknown

    Hi guys

Sorry I do not know the error code by the time I got a pen/paper out it had disappeared.
I have had multiple BSOD I have attached the minidump files (zip).
The crash happened once when I was using google chrome and the other time straight after the first BSOD and the computer had just reloaded to win 7 desktop.

Computer is using win 7 pro 64bit.

    Hi sequence81.

Only crash dumps are not enough.
Click on the button below ....

It will download the DM log collector. Right click on the application and run as administrator. It will generate a .zip file on your desktop. Upload the .zip.

I know that how important this program is. But it is not the first time I am seeing that Rapport is involved with a BSOD.

If possible, uninstall it on a test basis, for a few days. ** But if you assume any sort of thread, dont do it. Some things are more important than a BSOD.

BitDefender Firewall is one of the most frequent BSOD causer. Uninstall it. How to uninstall Bitdefender
Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Let us know the result; because stop 0x4A BSODs may indicate to a more serious issue that a couple of programs only. So it is important to observe how everything is going without these two.

If it does not stop BSODs, further checks are needed.

But if the BSODs stop, employ Rapport back and see how it goes.

    Thanks Arc,

So does those readouts say rapport was definitely involved? or just a case of process of elimination
I bought bitdefender as its consistently top ranking and I've had it for 3+ years now, do you know how good the microsoft suite is against bitdefender?
From the readouts are these the only 2 suspects?
    Many thanks for your help.

First of all, a stop 0x4A is mainly a memory related BSOD. But is may cause if any driver passes bad information to the memory, too.

And, both Rapport and BitDefender cause it. Rapport is a must for many of the users, but BitDefender is a crap. Ratings etc are adverting things, reports are paid write-ups.

In your case, both of them are flagged. So they should go (Rapport on a test basis).

But I cannot say it with certainty that some other things will not be discovered as the source of the issue.

Thanks for the explanation, I shall try using the microsoft security suite you recommended and turning off rapport on a test basis. Is it worth purchasing MBAM or free version is good enough? Not sure if there is any detection rate difference between free and paid for version or if its purely down to real time and some other perks only.

Is there any sites with actual 'real' comparisons between software's? not just security suites, which can be trusted?

For MBAM, the free version is enough. The pro version comes with a real time protection. But actually MBAM is industry leader as an on demand scanner, which the free version nicely provides.

I doubt that there is no website that has real comparison between paid software. If I pay good, my product will be on top.

I have noticed that some sites rank bitdefender on the top, but I never noticed any tech enthusiast ever opted for it.

Avast free is much better than any of them. But unfortunately it also contributes to BSODs. I am suggesting MSE to you because it never contributes to BSOD, and does its job satisfactory enough.

    Hi Arch

So far no BSOD, however, since replacing bitdefencer with Microsoft security suite and MBAM scanner I have had reoccurring issue with the pc slowing down drastically, internet searches are delayed as if the page is being scanned for a few seconds prior to loading up, software's and general use of pc is also 'lagging' for want of a better word. Any ideas?
