    BSOD error 0x000000f4 caused by driver ntoskrnl.exe

    Hello all, I recently built a new PC within the last two weeks. The code I get, everytime, is 0x000000f4, and according to BlueScreenView this is caused by ntoskrnl.exe. For the first couple days, it was running fine with no problems. The past week and a half, though, I've been getting BSOD at random times. I am always doing something different when the BSOD occurs, so at this point I cannot attribute these BSOD to any particular thing. I probably have two .dmp files at this point because I foolishly deleted previous .dmp files; this problem has actually occurred about 10-15 times within the past week and a half. Hopefully these two bluescreens will help you guys help me determine what's wrong with my PC. I'm what I like to consider a tech novice so anything too complicated I will not be able to answer. Lol. Thanks to anyone looking into my issue :)

    I've attached a .zip as per the BSOD thread instructions

    It looks good. :)

    Now test your RAM modules for possible errors.
    How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
    Run memtest for at least 8 consecutive passes.

    If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

    Let us know the result.

    I ran the test for four passes with no errors. I couldn't wait for all 8 passes as I needed my PC. I guess I'll run memtest overnight for 8 passes.

    Good news.

    Now let us talk a bit technically. Stop 0xF4 BSODs are storage related issues. The things those can cause such an issue are as follows ......

    • The storage device itself (CrystalDiscInfo says it is good);
    • Outdated SSD firmware (it is up-to-date);
    • Memory failure (it is not the case);
    • Lack of free space (you have enough);
    • File system filter of an antivirus program;
    • A virus hampering disc performance;
    • Bad or misfit cables;
    • Failing SATA ports on the motherboard .... etc.

    Now let us deduct ANOD. Saying it, because of the event just preceding the last reported BSOD:
    Code:
    The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
    AFD
    anodlwf
    BfLwf
    cdrom
    DfsC
    discache
    MpFilter
    NetBIOS
    NetBT
    nsiproxy
    Psched
    rdbss
    spldr
    tdx
    vwififlt
    Wanarpv6
    WfpLwf
    Uninstall ANOD. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

    Also, Scan the system for possible virus infection with the following programs.

    Plus, Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept then restart.

    Let us know how the computer is running after doing it.
