Yes, It's possible. Please follow these instructions.

I am going to give you some links that will help you get a good clean install and not have any drivers you don't need that will conflict with other drivers. Download a WHQL driver from https://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-c...ndows-7-a.html . Once you have them downloaded, uninstall you current driver from control panel. next clean up any left over drivers from following this tutorial Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling and select only ATI Display Drivers. After you have done that and rebooted, install the new driver, only select custom install and install only what you have to. Very few people need most of what they include. You do not need the audio/HDMI drivers as you already have that in your Motherboard drivers. Unless there is some reason you need them, the only thing you really need is the Display Driver.

griachae, I haven't heard from you, how is everything going? Did your tests reveal anything significant?

I am not sure what you are looking for in a board or your budget. In looking at the AM3+ boards, it seems that none of them I could find have stellar ratings. But, I would suggest buying from someone who has an excellent return policy. Here I use Amazon. They accept returns, no questions asked in the first 30 days. Just be sure it says sold by and ships from Amazon. Their Vendors are sometimes difficult to deal with. I buy all my boards from Amazon.

For that reason and practical troubleshooting, I always bench test the boards when I get them. It makes things much easier to get to and changes much easier to do. Plus, if you do that you can install the board in the case already built, with the exception of the graphics card.

Again, without knowing what is available in Europe and what the prices are, if I were going to buy one, these are they 2 I would try. First on my list would be the Asus Crosshair V Formula ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z ATX AMD Gaming Motherboard with 3-Way SLI/CrossFireX Support and UEFI BIOS - Newegg.com . I think it has everything you would ever need. My current board is an ROG board. I always thought ROG was a sales gimmick. I found out that it is not. It's the best board out for my chipset and will beat almost every other board, hands down.

My second choice would be the Sabertooth 990FX R2. The R2 is important. Many of the AM3+ boards were not built for the FX CPU's but a BIOS update allowed them to run them. These 2, I am pretty sure, were built for the FX CPUs, which makes them much more capable with your CPU. ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS - Newegg.com Plus, it has a 5 year warranty.

As you can probably tell, I am an Asus person. I've tried a few of the others and always come back to Asus. But, that's just me. If you would prefer another brand, I'll look for that for you. That's just my 2 cents worth. Also, they will both run your cards at X16 X16.

Hello essenbe. I have tried that:

mutiple times. This time I installed the APU version. Can u tell me what is the difference between the two you can choose here?. Still getting BSOD's (zip attatched). One of the latest BSOD windbg blames sidebar.exe.

I have tested my graphiccard in a friends computer and he promised me it's fine(I trust him, he's an IT person). Also I can borrow a motherboard with different cpu and a gtx 570 from a friend and test, if there is an error in any of my hardware components. Test results in a few days.

Last: Thank you for your research. I am a heavy amazon customer and i buy a lot of my stuff there.

The two mainboards you suggest are pretty nice, but maybe a little too overpowered. I mean I already have an excellent soundcard, so the perfect mainboard for me has no soundcard integrated, but instead a PCIe 1x slot, if you know what I mean(I know that's very unlikely).

At the moment my plan is to try different hardware to see if I really have to buy something new. If I have to I will tell you here. As I said that's gonna take a few days. Meanwhile I will test different software and installations.

But because I also love to watch out for possible new stuff I found a PSU I would like BeQuiet! PowerZone 1000W 80+Bronce BN213. For mainboard I guess I would choose ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS. And of course the second
GigaByte RADEON HD 7870 OC 2GB for crossfire. Keeping the rest of my system specs. Do you think that will work well together?

Well, again, I don't know much about Be Quiet, other than I head they were very good. I'm a Corsair or seasonic person. I know about them. LOL. If you try modular, you will never buy anything else.

Everything you mentioned would work. The only caveat is if the ram 'agrees' with the board, but it should. Most everything else, will work in any system. The CPU, Board and ram are the only things to worry about being compatible. One thing I never mentioned, but probably should have, it your Razor mouse. Some people find Razor drivers to give them fits. I noticed it, but with what was going on, it didn't seem that was a problem. One of those things that is strange why some people pull their hair out with them and some use them for years with no problems.

APU is accelerated graphics processor. Graphics on the CPU with no dedicated graphics card. They're OK for browsing or watching a HD movie, but I wouldn't attempt any hard core gaming with them. AMD's on board are better than Intel's though. I know once I was bench testing a new rig I was building and thought I'd see how good/bad they were. I started BF3, and crashed before the game loaded. If you want to wait a couple of weeks, you may get a better deal. The end of this month, the new NVidia 980 is supposed to be released. You may get a price drop.

Don't be talking bad about overkill, That's my middle name. But, seriously they both have on board sound. The Sabertooth, if they are like the Intel Sabertooth is quite good. I have a Z77 Sabertooth and it is very good. The Maximus is much better though. They are built for overclocking. I don't want you to misunderstand though, Asus does not have great tech support. But then, nobody else does either. I would still try to RMA the Asrock board. It never hurts to have 2.
I have experience with a few of them. That's why I was saying to go with someplace with an excellent return policy, like Amazon. You don't want to have to deal with tech support with any of them.

I take it you like your sound card? I was looking for one and thought about that one, but sound cards are not my thing and I know little about them, except I have heard creative has driver problems. You do know, you can use your sound card in an X4 slot don't you? You can even use a X16 slot.

Give me a little while and I'll look at your dump files.

Got a new SF_Diagnostic_Tool zip. Ran memtest over the weekend again. Must have crashed or something because it rebootet in Windows. Detailed update later.

Tested with a Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS-> Still same 0x0000001E BSOD's after few minutes. Pretty sure now it's the mobo or the RAM. Any way since it's not the graphic card and a friend of mine bet 10 € on the mobo I will do some shopping now. Test the new hardware piece by piece to be able to tell this thread, what caused the BSOD's.

EDIT: Also crashing in safe mode now. File uploaded

same thing and some new ones. It seems the first one is consistent. However, these are all drivers. If you BSOD during memtest, you have a hardware problem. memtest runs out of ram, the drivers, operating system and nothing else are involved. The OS is not even loaded.

All of the dumps are the same. But I always get references to USB port and tcip. Is there any way you can no use wiFi and install the Lan driver and connect hardwired to your Router? Do you have other machines connected to that router and are they wireless or hardwired?
