Random BSOD while playing or displaying images

Hi,

lately, I have run into a persistent BSOD, while Windows likes to blame Nvidia drivers, I'm skeptical because I already installed a stable past version of drivers, and, after a few days, I just had 2 crashes for no reason, one while attempting to use windows update and another while the computer was displaying a screen protector. Can't really say what is making all these errors, last time, I thought it was because the computer was running out of space, now it's not that, I copied most of the stuff to an external HD. Would hate having to re install everything just to have more BSOD's. Any help is appreciated.

There are no dump files in the files you uploaded. Dump files are what we work off of. Please make sure your computer is configured to create Small Memory Dumps

Also, just so you know, just because you installed new graphics drivers does not mean that is not what the problem is. Does your laptop use switchable graphics? I believe Nvidia calls it Optimus? Is your computer still under warranty?

No, it's a dedicated video card. No warranty since I bought it used. I'll try to do what I was doing before getting the BSOD and see if windows creates a memory dump, as it was configured to create a kernel dump, but, didn't write that either

No, click on the blue link above and change it to small memory dump.

yeah, I did, just saying that it was supposed to create a kernel dump. Didn't create one the past 2 BSOD's. I'll post back if I get a BSOD. Thanks!

edit in: just had 4 BSOD's, no dumps are written, it sort of seems like the HDD is disconected at some point during the crash. Beginning to think it is a problem with the hard disk dying out... as I was first doing an anti virus sweep, then, trying to run updates, just after logging in again and another while looking for the minidump.

After another 5 BSOD's I managed to catch a glimpse at what happens. It says something about failing to write the dump with error 0xC0000010 (or something like that, it's too fast to see) guessing the HDD is dying

doing a search, I do have the hotfix to correct the issue. I will do a chipset driver install and see if that corrects the issue

OK, just make sure it is configured to create Small Memory Dumps, and check to see if you have a folder named Minidump in C: Windows. If you don't, create one.

it keeps failing and there's no minidump folder. I'll create one and see if it writes one since I believe more BSOD's will come
still think it is the hard drive, as they are more recurrent whenever I try to move certain folders or whenever I try to copy/move a lot of data

by the way, I tried all the methods for windows to create the dump, it sill states the failure and the same error for not creating one. As of now, even if I run the troubleshooting tools, it states that windows is running fine, no issues detected, and yet, I have had more BSOD's today than any other day

I finished backuping important data, if it comes down to it, I can perform a format and re install windows, in hopes that this would fix the BSOD's of course.

edit in: just had another BSOD where there's a different excuse for no creating the dump, error: 0xC000000C9 (I think) minidump folder is empty, btw.

also, I did update the Intel chipset driver, no dice, still throwing lot's of BSOD's my way

CesarDav, Please uninstall Dameon tools and any of the other programs mentioned below, then follow the procedures below.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause of BSOD's.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools.
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
- Double click the executable to open it
- Click the button shown below

If the button it is grayed out, as shown in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can just close the window.

uninstalled Daemon Tools, made sure SPTD was out. Got another BSOD while attempting a virus check with Microsoft Security Essentials , no error for not writing the dump, still no files in minidump folder. Went trough the steps to check the settings for said dump, all correct.

managed to see the stop error, 0x000007A (I think).

by the way, I do not have Alcohol 120% or Power Archiver Pro in my system. What I do have is PowerISO
