Computer freezing intermittently during start-ups/when running tasks
Hello! The problem, as the title says, has been occurring since I first got my computer back in 2010-2011.
A general description of what happens
Scenario 1
1. I would boot up the computer
2. As soon as I log on and everything has loaded in the windows environment, the computer would freeze.
3. A hard reset is needed to get it to work again.
Scenario 2
1. Computer has booted and I'm using the windows environment for mundane tasks surfing web or gaming
2. After sometime, computer will freeze.
3. A hard reset is needed to get it to work again
Although the error logs would describe issue as a BSOD, I have not seen it in its infamy on several occasions. I can't exactly remember if a "blue screen" has actually flashed on the screen before, but it maybe a moot point really.
I have no idea what is going on which is why I'm here in the first place: I need an expert opinion. The event viewer states that it is "Kernal-Power" and I would assume its something power related. SO before I embarrass myself any further on more inane deductions, I'd like to request some help so that I can resolve what has been an occasional irritant for the past few years.
Thanks in advance!
Update:
I have read several sources including the ones posted on this site and would infer that the bsod may be caused by a faulty power supply. I have done a memtest awhile back and it has ruled out the ram. But I can't be certain.
The computer has crashed on me 2 times yesterday concurrently, both time when I was playing skyrim.
I understand that everyone is busy and I would really appreciate if someone can confirm my suspicions by looking into the bug report :)
