BSOD no download for a long time

Hello, this morning my computer started off by not beign able to turn on, and after an hour its finally came to the desktop. When i reached the desktop and waited till the programs that runs on start-up had opened, i began to lag and took around 15 minutes to open "Google chrome" and after that crashed the computer. I opened it again (Took around 30 minutes) and downloaded some malware anti virus programs. After i had runned the malwarebyte and got rid of PUPS and two Trojan agents, the blue screen of death came. Last time i had BSOD was in february 2014.

    I will appreciate your help.

    Hi semig1.

Update Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

    • Double click to open it.
    • Click this button only:
    • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept then restart.

    Let us know the results.

"Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below"

Look closer, there are two different versions of the file; and you have to get the appropriate one for you.

Ahh thanks, i noticed right after i wrote this. (Thought i had edited it) No more BSOD for me, but my computer now just freezes every now and then and i can't do anything to prevent it. (This happens often after the reason steps, even without anything open on my dekstop). I don't really know what happened, as i said earlier. I have not downloaded anything for around 1½ month, and suddenly came after the night we just had - (GMT+1) Some times it also just freeze short, for like 30 seconds and then goes back to normal. These small freezes are the start of the complete freeze i get some times.
