    Woke up to BSOD

    kinda annoyed seeing as my current system is a new build, this OS hasnt even been installed a week and l annoyingly get a bsod..

    anywho have run the tools hopefully someone can give me an idea why l got the bsod, tho to my annoyance my assumption would be ram considering l have 16gb installed but as two matched pairs. tho lm hoping its something l can stop happening especially considering lve been running this system for a week with no problems except this one so far.

    Looks like BitDefender is causing this one,

    Code:
    BugCheck 50, {fffff810031fbc10, 8, fffff810031fbc10, 5}

    Unable to load image \??\C:\Program Files\Common Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Firewall\bdfwfpf.sys, Win32 error 0n2
    *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for bdfwfpf.sys
    *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for bdfwfpf.sys
    Try removing it and see how it acts.

    The Bugcheck 50 is usually memory related so your mention of the RAM you have installed may well be the root cause.

       Information
    MemTest86+

    Run a minimum of 8 passes, preferably overnight, or until errors occur using MemTest86+.

    Use this tutorial to help you use MemTest86+:
    RAM - Test with MemTest86+

    You can try testing it with MemTest86+ and/or just testing with one of the sets installed.

    I would say the two obvious things from your dump I pointed out would be the best place to start.

    I understand not wanting to get rid of a paid AV but it is clearly being flagged as a cause, to prove or disprove that would mean uninstalling it and use MSE for the time being.

    For the time being, uninstall your Anti-Virus,

    AV Uninstallers

    And Install Microsoft Security Essentials which we know doesn't cause BSOD's.

    If you continue to get crashes then try testing your RAM or just using one or the other of your matched sets.

    what l might do is grab another set of the ram that l purchased for the system build. and see how that goes but l may have to wait till next week to sort that out.

    Let us know how it goes. The easiest and quickest thing to test is removing BitDefender and see how it acts.

    l agree, but given that it took a week.. l could be waiting a while before anything pops up. however if it is caused by BD it would make sense for it to be the the cause of another BSOD, what lm trying to say is there are quite a few things running in the background, so if it happens again and its BD at the top again then l'll have to look into other possibilities.

    it happened again, thought it was strange nothing happened for a week then it suddenly starts happening.

    have created another dump to see if anything has changed since the last dump.

    that said one thing l have done this time is take out the older set of RAM, the older set was from my old system admittedly lve had it for a few years now... but if it happens again l'll swap the ram around again and if it still continues then it would suggest something other than ram..

    but given whats already been mentioned (as the bugcheck code) its a likely bet, l just hope its my old stuff l guess l can live on 8gb l did before comfortably just thought it would be cool to add some extra.

    still would appreciate knowing if the same issue occurred as last time.

    Bitdefender is still being flagged as an issue - its time to follow Derek's earlier suggestion and replace it with MSE to test.

    Code:
    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *
    *******************************************************************************

    Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.
