BSOD while Playing Team Fortress 2 and using mumble, error 0x00000044

Third bump, sorry if I'm spamming, but I want to let you know that I updated the driver from my motherboard website, although I'm not certain if this will solve the bsod from Marvell controller. If it happens, I'll uninstall it. Like my hd was set to achi when this system was bought few years ago. Then again, I'm not sure if uninstalling from control panel will have negative effect like last time I did this with driver sweeper that will cause inaccessible boot error. I don't want to make the same mistake again. So I'll ask you a question, will uninstall Marvell driver will have a negative effect?

As for the Bigfoot driver update, I'm still checking if the bsod appears. Funny thing is that I can play games without bsods until I encountered them. How is that possible?

Thank you, Golden, for finding the root causes of these bsods :), although finding new drivers for those is a bitch since Marvell doesn't support drivers for downloads.

And speaking of old drivers how can I tell if these drivers need updating? I know about GPU drivers but not some drivers that I have on my system.

I'm still not out of the woods yet, if I get another bsod, I'll post a new dump. Fingers crossed.

Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller .... caused from

Marvell 88SE9182 chip:

1. 2 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors (GSATA3_6, GSATA3_7) supporting up to 2 SATA 6Gb/s devices
2. Support for SATA RAID 0 and RAID 1

So, the process of installing all the things bundled by the motherboard driver CD is causing the issues here. You have only one internal HDD, so no need for RAID, but you have installed both the RAID features supplied there. Not only Marvel, but JMicron RAID, too.

If windows keeping the marvell driver reinstalling at its own, better you try another SATA port, a non-Marvell one. It will keep the Marvell driver inactive.

But, the best way to avoid problems for you will be to reinstall windows, and then to be careful to install drivers. Go to GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1366 - G1.Guerrilla (rev. 1.0) and take the drivers for Audio, LAN, and USB3. Let windows use the system native storage controller, no need to get any storage controller driver.

Ah, ok. It sucks that I'm no tech savvy (meaning no knowledge) when it comes to switching sata ports since I bought this pc from ibuypower. So reinstalling windows is the best option instead of switching ports? If so, I'll try to reinstall windows. Man, this is even more complicated but it's worth the shot.

Most of us are not tech savvy from the beginning, but we start from a certain point. :) And an issue is a good starting point.

But if you are afraid of opening the computer, dont do it. A clean reinstall will do good for you.

Your Aduio driver is Realtek High Definition Audio (c:\windows\system32\drivers\rtkvhd64.sys). So you get the Realtek Function driver for Realtek Azalia audio chip from Gigabyte's download page.

After installing Windows, when would I know when windows use its native storage driver? Will windows identified marvel device in the progress?

As for the Bigfoot lan driver, should I download the drivers from from Qualcomm site or the gigabyte site?

A Marvell SATA port is a port controlled by Marvell drivers, when it is installed. If it is not, then a Marvell port is an ordinary SATA port.

During installation, windows installs the native storage controllers by itself. If the storage controller mode is ATA/IDE, then it is pciide.sys and pciidex.sys. If the mode is AHCI then it is msahci.sys. You need not to do anything else for it.

Dont install the BIGFoot driver. Install the Atheros network driver only.

The same driver is available in both the Gigabyte's site and Qualcomm's site.

Yup! Much easier now! :) I'll update this thread once I get things over with (still in the middle of backing up files) and hopefully I'll reinstall Windows (as well as installing the drivers you've provided and windows updates). Hopefully this'll solve the BSOD problem. :) *crosses fingers*
