Hopefully Snuffy will stop by soon and assist with the compatibility mode thing.

Personally, I fear that won't help because "compatibility modes" affect only user-mode code. In other words, it can make a difference to the installer executable which installs the driver, but it doesn't do squat for the operation of a kernel-mode driver. (There's no mollycoddling in kernel-mode ).

It's theoretically possible for the installer to be unable to place all information relevant to the driver afterwards unless it's run (the installer) in a particular compat mode, but in all likelihood the driver then wouldn't function at all.
