Repeated BSOD, caused by nvlddmkm.sys or dxgkrnl.sys

    Hi,

I have been getting BSOD's almost everytime I run a game that uses my graphics card (also whenever I load steam).
I have tried installing multiple different versions of nvidia drivers, sometimes my laptop works for a few hours, or a few days, before the problem comes back again, I also did an update of windows using a dvd-disc I got with the laptop, (I think it reinstalls windows, but keeps your programs and settings). This also "fixed" the issue for a day and a half, before I got another BSOD.

I've looked around online, and some people seem to have very similar problems, down to exactly the same 3 drivers, but I can't see any solutions.

I've run furMark burn-in test for 2 hours, and prime 95 for 30 mins, neither had any problems, so I'm pretty sure it's not hardware (also the fact that it does work when not crashing (did 3.5h of Civ 5 with no problems, also a couple of hours of Crysis 3).

I'm not sure if this is connected but windows update keeps on trying to install the same two updates over and over again (security updates for microsoft .Net framework)

In the folder there are 2 minidump files, the older one is the real problem, the one that keeps on repeating, seemingly randomly, the other one is something else, not sure about it, but I'm trying to solve the earlier one.

I'm rather lost about what to do next, so help is really appreciated,
    Thanks

    Welcome to 7F.

Your nVidia driver has indeed been flagged.

How many drivers have you tried and how far back? That will be handy to know before we proceed further.

The other (and probably the troublesome one, both are dated today) initially blames your USB hub.

You will need to visit the website of either the motherboard vendor or the chassis vendor for those drivers, if you can provide the info those vendors we can help you look for them.

Alternatively check the Intel Download Center.

The nVidia drivers I've tried are GeForce 344.11/340.52/337.88/334.89
The 334.89 one goes back to february 18th, however I've only had problems since september.
(I'm not sure how these thing work, but I suspect it is some kind of clash with another driver).

I used the Intel driver update utility, and it told me there was an update for wireless networking, so I installed that.

Try the version linked below for your GPU. Follow NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems for the cleanest possible install, test and report back.

Thanks for the help, it all seems to be working now, I'll give it a few more days and then mark as solved if it hasn't crashed again.
