Disable it then. If you have the time, and want to find out the cause Erinstall Windows after you have backed up all your personal files. Reinstall Windows, install your Chipset driver, Graphics driver, your Lan driver and Microsoft Security Essentials (Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows) Nothing else. Run all the important and recommended Windows Updates and use it for a while to make sure you have no problems. Then install 1 program at a time and use it long enough where you are sure there are no problems. Then continue 1 program at a time and testing in between until you start to have problems. Then you will know, the last program you installed was the cause.

It will be a lot longer install, but you will find out which program and driver is causing you problems.

Thre is one other option that is almost as long but if you take your time and really think about it, you can determine which program is causing the problems. What errors or warnings are you getting? Any info would be helpful in answering your question. I suspect it may be an issue of switchable graphics, in which case there is no easy solution that I have ever seen. There are solutions though, in most cases. Just so I can look again, please run the

Where are you getting your Graphics drivers from? Please run

If you have the Nvidia driver installed, right click on an empty place on the Desktop and go to Nvidia Control panel, and set the Integrated Graphics as primary, like so

Now, disable nvidia graphics card in the device manager.

1. Click on the start button.
2. Type Device Manager in the search bar.
3. Click on the resulting link. The Device Manager window will open.
4. The third one should be "Display Adapter". Expand it by clicking on the "►" in front of it. Your nvidia card name will be shown.
5. Right click on it. Choose "Disable" in the context menu.
6. A dialog will appear with some scary words. Dont be afraid. Click on "Yes" .
7. Restart the computer.

Now, you probably won't like this, but try it and see if you still get freezes. I would also look real good through BIOS and see if there was some way to disable either the Dedicated card or Optimus. With laptops with switchable graphics, this is unfortunately the way it ends up. I would also try the integrated driver from Dell too. See if that helps any.
