BSOD during the "starting windows" screen

    Hello,

There are 3 options in the BIOS of my MB for sATA modes : IDE, AHCI and RAID.

I made a fresh install of 7 pro x64 on a SSD drive but for some reason the sATA mode was set to "RAID" rather than "AHCI" at that time...

Now, I followed the tutorial and changed msahci/start from 3 to 0. IaStorV/start was already set to 0...

Rebooted, entered the BIOS, set sATA mode to "AHCI" -> BSOD during the "starting windows" screen just like before...

Any idea why and how to fix that?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

EDIT: I also changed the vlaue of pciide/start from 3 to 0 according to this thread:
    http://www.askvg.com/how-to-change-s...lling-windows/
Still I get the BSOD upon changing sATA mode from RAID to AHCI in the BIOS...

I might be wrong but it seems that you need to install the SATA drivers, just double check.

Thanks a lot :) I installed all the drivers present on the CD that came with the MB.
    However, I can find this:
    http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList...64_8series.exe
on the webpage corresponding to my MB:
    GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1150 - GA-Z87-HD3 (rev. 1.x)

It says "Note: Windows setup to read from USB thumb drive." and the downloaded exe file seems to be a self-extractable archive.

Do you know how I am supposed to install these files?

Thank you very much for your help.
