Windows 7: BSOC, 0x000000c4, gdrv.sys, DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

20 Oct 2014   #1

Windows 7 64bit
BSOC, 0x000000c4, gdrv.sys, DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

I am attaching a diagnostic zip file for the computer suffering from BSOD issues. Here is the basic problem:

1. Computer died. Installed new motherboard and processor. Everything seemed to work okay, but started getting BSOD messages.
2. The motherboard is a Gigabyte

Gigabyte AM3+ AMD DDR3 1333 760G HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Motherboard GA-78LMT-USB3

3. Processor is:
AMD Athlon II X2 270 Regor 3.4 GHz 2x1 MB L2 Cache Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor - Retail ADX270OCGMBOX
4. Computer is custom built.
5. I put the basic error messages in the subject line of the post.
6. Every time I try to load the Gigabyte driver cd or download Gigabyte drivers to see if I can solve the problem, the computer crashes again.

Please help with whatever advice you can. Thanks.

A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and 0xA will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.

A clean install is recommended on upgrades like this.

If considered, I would call my friend to help guide you.
