A clean Install does not leave the windows.old folder. That is the basic feature of a repair install. Even if you boot from the DVD, if you choose the "upgrade" option, it will result in a repair install.

To perform a clean reinstall, you need to follow the "custom" way. But as it already done, and it is running well, let it be as it is.

2. It is still ok to delete windows.old?

You can delete it whenever you want.

3. That system reserve thing should be left alone and it is NOT a restore partition?

Not should but must. It is not the restore partition. It keeps the boot files in that partition.

About antivirus, you will use at your free will. I can suggest you, I can recommend you. But the final decision is obviously your. If you ask three random geeks in this forum, you will get three different opinions about it. As I do BSODs, my suggestions are from a BSOD perspective.

CCleaner is completely safe. Feel totally free to use it, but dont run it with windows startup.
