BSODs - 3 Different Errors - Weak\Failing HDD?

The system was idle for a few minutes when it started hanging, then the Aero transparent theme changed to Aero basic theme and then first BSOD.
I restarted by reset button and then it took a few minutes at the 'Starting Windows' screen and then second BSOD.
Then again reset button and 'Starting Windows' and third BSOD.

I restarted and checked in BIOS and the Windows HDD was not showing up. I disconnected all HDDs, changed the power cable of the Windows HDD and it appeared in BIOS.

After this it was stuck at 'Starting Windows' with no BSOD. I used a Ubuntu DVD to bootup the system in 'Try Ubuntu' mode and the HDD was working fine.

I deleted the partition, reinstalled Windows, and then restored a Macrium backup (from different partition on same HDD) and it has been working fine since the past five hours.

Is it a problem with the HDD? How should I check this?

Apparently. All the bugcheck codes are indicating in the same line.

As you cannot boot to windows, test the HDD using Seatools for DOS. Take both the short generic and long generic tests.

After the BSODs it was not booting. I deleted the Windows partition, created new partition in the unallocated space and reinstalled Windows and it booted to desktop. Then I restored the backup of a few days ago using Macrium and it was succesfully completed.

Since then I have used the PC for almost 15 hours and also made backups of all data on this HDD with a few restarts and shutdowns inbetween and the HDD has given no problems.

As Windows is booting now should I use the Seatools for Windows or still the DOS version? Or some other software for checking from within Windows?

If the HDD was corrupt, then a clean install would not have worked. Probably there was file system error and formatting the HDD recovered it.

Still, it is better to be safe than sorry. Test the HDD using Seatools for Windows, as it boots to desktop now.

I will test the HDD. Another BSOD after I restored image again.

If you want, you may have a test with Data lifeguard.

But better you plan to backup the data and get another HDD, as soon as possible.

I will get a new HDD and I've already made backups of all data on this drive. Is it possible that only the partition with the 'C' drive has errors\bad sectors? I have not encountered any crashes\errors\BSODs when I was making backups of data from the other partitions.
