    Yes that was one of the causes ... Have never used Avira so no idea what it is like ... When did Panda stop working ? ...

    It never would work right on Windows 8.1. When scanning, it would pause automatically and wouldn't resume. I had to pause and resume the scan manually. This happened all throughout the scan process. I tried working with Panda's tech support, and I couldn't get much assistance.

    I have no idea which one to suggest for you ... I use FSecure but it is not Free ...

    I started out with AVG. It worked good. But, someone told me to try Panda.

    Avg is no good .. There does not seem to be a good choice of Free ones .. Even the paid ones some are not good ...
