I went online and looked at the reviews of this model. So far, the first page had decent reviews. Maybe, it's just a simple problem they need to fix. We haven't had any trouble out of it, besides not wanting to shut down right and not wanting to sleep. I explained to someone on the Windows 8 forums what went wrong, and they said "Probably because it didn't want to die." In my opinion, they were making fun of me.
Given the fact that lots of Windows 8 Computers suffer from the same issue .. It makes me think it has some thing to do with the OS or one of the Updates ... But what i have noticed is more of the Windows 8 Computers that have been upgraded to Windows 8.1 they seem to be the ones that have most of the issues ...

Well, you say its a Software problem. Acer says its a Hardware problem. I don't know. We will have to wait and see. But, if this problem repeats itself then I am going to be upset. There is absolutely no sense in a new computer having issues of any kind, whether it be software or hardware related.
Maxie, they soft loaded my hard drive and set everything back to the way it was when purchased. I am not sure what they fixed it, as that's all they said.
