BSOD on multiple occasions (explained in detail)
Hello everyone,
I have a 3 year old hp laptop. I can remember that it started crashing and displaying BSODs around the second year. At that time it was not very frequent. However, it started to happen more and more. Generally, it happened when too many processes were running at the same time (torrenting, downloading, reading a document, playing music, etc.) but sometimes it happened randomly too. I have had cases where it happened just before shutting down, or right after restarting because of another BSOD. I tried re-installing my Windows and no crashes occurred only for a couple weeks after which I started to get the same pattern of crashes again (even more frequently). I can not see any error "names" on recent BSODs but I remember seeing USB_BUGCODE (or something like that) before. (it was not the same "name" all the time though).
If it helps, here is some random information:
- I have tried updating my BIOS
- I rarely have these display issues: random flickering horizontal lines on my monitor or sometimes (especially during full-screen video games), screen becoming two splits and going crazy (I know its hard to visualize from my words but basically, it is very annoying), which do not get fixed until I restart Windows
- I have a 2 year old wireless usb mouse
- I have a laptop cooler that works with usb. It's wire has an issue and so the cooler stops working almost all the time. At this point, I am only using it because it feels comfortable on my lap.
I appreciate your responses :)
