    BSOD Help and Support

    Hello all.

I'm new to sevenforums and am hoping to find out what is behind my BSOD!

I strongly suspect that this may be a HDD failure because according to Piriform's Speccy, my HDD is running hot.

In any case, I have attached the .zip file as instructed.

    Thank you in advance!

No BSOD .dmp files present in your zip file.

Check in C:\Windows\Minidump......are there any .dmp files there?

They should get created automatically when the system BSOD's.

    Are they present or not?

I will have to wait until the next BSOD. It looks as though CCleaner may have wiped out the logs.

Yes....don't run Ccleaner until the BSOD is solved.

    Hi again "Golden".
    Thanks for your previous assistance.
As it turns out, the bsod may have been caused by nothing more than an incorrect video driver.
My gf's laptop came with Windows Vista Home Premium x64, but when I installed 7 Ultimate x64 I used the
video driver supplied by Microsoft Update.
I just removed that driver and installed HP's Vista driver using Vista Compatibility Mode.
I have also hidden the Windows Update video driver and (keeping fingers crossed) no bsod to date!

    Thanks again!
