If the fault occurs upon resume from standby, there is a known problem between Windows and some motherboards when using multiple devices on IDE/ATA channels. The hard drive or cabling may be set wrong. If using PATA drive, confirm the boot hard drive is jumpered as the Master, or if SATA, have the boot drive connected to the master channel. Do no connect another device to the same channel (i.e. for PATA move a slave device on the primary channel to the secondary master). Confirm the hard disk cables are good and connected securely. You can also try the following:-

    Check Hard Disk and Cables
    Get the Latest Drivers
    Restore From Backup or Image

    I did these:
    Check Hard Disk and Cables
    Get the Latest Drivers

Im currently performing a factory restore. Ill pick up an extra hard drive and load the backup image on it just to see if that fixes the issue.

What gets me is it is fine in safe mode

If it's fine in safe mode, then it's a driver issue, or hard drive failure. How old is the HDD? Try swapping in a new one.

    You are correct.

I swapped drives and reimaged. All seems to be fine so far.

Thank you all for your help.
