Multiple different BSOD's while playing Warcraft

Hello -- I recently installed a new GPU and I'm getting multiple different types of BSOD's. I have completely reinstalled windows twice and now the issue is popping up again. I'm currently not running an anti-virus because I wanted to eliminate that issue. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Adam

Hello, brachen33 welcome to the Forums. Could you add to your system specs at the bottom left of your last post what PSU you have and what CPU cooler you have please. You are getting different error codes but the same cause.

    Code:
    atikmdag
    start end module name
    fffff880`13091000 fffff880`14315000 atikmdag T (no symbols)
        Loaded symbol image file: atikmdag.sys
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\atikmdag.sys
        Image name: atikmdag.sys
        Timestamp: Thu Nov 20 20:30:27 2014 (546EA3C3)
        CheckSum: 0121F198
        ImageSize: 01284000

open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

Also, please make sure you have a good GPU monitoring program and stop the test if the tempos go too high. This is a GPU stress test which makes the temps rise very rapidly, so just be careful and watch the temps. The tutorial suggests Speedfan but I recommend something better Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Also please install Microsoft Security Essentials (Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows)

Thank you for the response ESSENBE. I ran the scan and no errors were found and also installed Windows Security Essentials as well and ran the scan for it. I updated my specs as well. As far as the Video Card Stress test goes I will run that and see how it does. It's a brand new GPU : / so I'm hoping that isn't the issue.

Just let me know. What card did you have before and were you having any trouble with it? Did you do a complete uninstall of the older drivers before changing cards?

I went ahead and ran memtest86 over night and it got 6 passes with no errors so I'm assuming my RAM is ok? The Card I did have before this one was a Asus Radeon HD 6850. I don't remember but getting the BSOD's, but I was getting really bad screen tearing but I think it was because it was an older monitor. I have replaced that monitor as well when I started upgrading all those other components. I'll run the Furmark test this evening and see where were at from there. Thanks again for taking the time to take a look at this, much appreciated.

Memtest should have been run for a minimum of 8 passes. But, reinstall your drivers using this method. Then run Furmark.

I am going to give you some links that will help you get a good clean install and not have any drivers you don't need that will conflict with other drivers. Download a WHQL driver from https://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-c...ndows-7-a.html . Once you have them downloaded, uninstall you current driver from control panel. next clean up any left over drivers from following this tutorial Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling and select only ATI Display Drivers. After you have done that and rebooted, install the new driver, only select custom install and install only what you have to. Very few people need most of what they include. You do not need the audio/HDMI drivers as you already have that in your Motherboard drivers. Unless there is some reason you need them, the only thing you really need is the Display Driver.

Going to remove and reinstall those drivers. The Furmark test maxed out at 60 degrees and then I just stopped it after about 15 minutes. I think that is what it is checking? I'll post back after I get the drivers redone.

    Thanks again,

Usually the temps go up real quick. Once they level out, is what you are checking for, but 60 is kind of low, for your card. Are you sure it was running right?

My mistake, It was at 70 degrees. I just re-ran it a couple times. However after the windows updates I ran yesterday (not sure if it makes a difference) I ran a full 3 hour raid tonite in Warcraft *ZOLTAN* with no hiccups and really good fps. I haven't replaced the drivers but I am on the current ones that Radeon said I should be on. Those updates may have fixed it. Or do you still think I should go ahead with driver sweeper and reinstall?

    Thanks again,
    Adam
