Windows 7 cpu 100% system process - solution - solução

English:

hi all!!
I looked for a solution for my problem for many days, but TODAY I found the solution!
my problem was: no matter what I did, my CPU was always using 100% , and the responsible for that was the SYSTEM process , IN windows 7 ultimate.

I tried everything, videocards, codecs, formatting. In the beginning, everything was OK, but after I did my own personal configuration, the cpu was 100%, and everything was so slow! man, i was desperate!
but then, TODAY, i noticed that it happened when I changed the POWER CONFIGURATION !!!!
I have the tradition of letting everything ON all the time. so I went to advanced configuration and but to NEVER turn off, in ALL CASES.
well, after I changed it BACK to the default configuration, immediately my cpu came back to its right use!

it's a miracle!

I really hope I help somebody! cya!

Welcome to SF leoconsoft and thanks for taking the time to post your findings

As a suggestion, you may wish to ensure that your motherboard's BIOS and hardware-related drivers (NIC, video, chipset...) are all as up-to-date as possible. The "system" process carries out a lot of tasks which are fundamental to the functioning of the operating system, and there's a lot of driver activity in there. The link to power management configuration suggests problems with the BIOS or one of those drivers.

Either way, I'm glad that you found an effective workaround for your issue!

The exactly same thing had happened to me.

I am using an Acer One netbook and found no BIOS update so far for this problem.

Anything I can do to get some help?

Open up your task manager to see what process is using excess cpu resources...

I did. The process is SYSTEM. The only way to make it stop using 100% CPU was restoring energy settings. I just changed what to do when I close the laptop and then it started.

Go to the performance tab of task manager. Click resource monitor and have a look there.

I'd uninstall any antivirus to test. Disabling will not help.

I did it already. And I know what is causing the problem. If a change Energy settings, it starts to get sloooooow. Retoring default energy settings put everything ok again.

So, it might me some problem with the BIOS, I suppose. But I found no solutions.
