Error 0xc000000f after selecting "Normal Startup" in msconfig

    Hello,

I'm unable to boot into Windows after I selected "normal startup" in msconfig and attempted to reboot. Here's the error message:

    >Boot Manager:
    >Windows failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

    >1.Insert your Windows installation disc and restart the computer.
    >2.Choose your language settings, and then click "Next".
    >3.Click "Repair your computer."

    >If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

    >Status: 0xc000000f

    >Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

After reviewing some threads in this forum, I can't find a solution. For context and some things that I have tried to do so far to troubleshoot:

    A) Windows 7 is installed on my HDD, which is drive F:
    B) With a recovery disk, I am able to try startup repair, however, it fails (I have tried multiple times in a row)
    C) I am able to get into command prompt.
    D) My working guess right now about what is causing the issue is that after selecting "normal startup" in msconfig (I changed it from selective startup, simply because I was curious about what "normal" meant and how my computer would run... which is to say, almost not at all) my computer is trying to boot from the c:\ drive instead of f:\. I don't know how to change it to drive f:\
    E) I have switched the boot order in BIOS to my f:\ drive, but still getting the same error
    F) I disabled the other drive in BIOS (instead of giving it 2nd priority to boot), but still getting the same error
    G) I have made the partition active on my F:\ by using diskpart in command prompt. I'm not sure if this did anything.

Any help would be HUGELY appreciated. Thanks!

I used the startup repair tool from my Windows 7 upgrade CD, instead of one I downloaded from the microsoft support website, and it suddenly worked. Windows Boot Manager came up and gave me an option to boot from "Windows 7 Home Edition (recovered)."
