Startup 0x00000116

Hi there,
I haven't had issues with my pc in a while now but a few days ago I got a few bluescreens (0x00000116). Before they happened the screen always flashed black and in the bottom right I got the error "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered". I haven't cleaned my pc in a while so I thought of that first and it ran fine for a day.

Now I'm at the point where if I start my pc with the NVIDIA drivers installed I get the same bluescreen before it is even done starting up. I tried uninstalling the drivers with ddu (as it seems to get recommended here for example) and then reinstalling the 347.25 win7 64bit drivers (with only "Graphics Driver", "NVIDIA GeForce Experience" and "PhysX System Software" and a clean install checked). Still the same issues when I start with it. Right after I used ddu I can start without safe mode because the drivers aren't there.

Before I was completely unable to start with the drivers I also checked the GPU temperatures with hwmonitor and they seemed to be fine (around 45°C is ok, yes?). Not sure what to do now, don't want my graphics cards to die

And you already have tried multiple versions of display drivers, as it appears form your statement.

Break the SLI. Remove one card, boot the PC with a single graphics card only. Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it.

Now, remove this card and apply the other one. Stress it too. Take the screenshot, too.

Upload the screenshots for us.Also let us know, did you experience any artifacts during either of the stress test? or any BSOD/crash?

Ok, I just managed to boot with drivers with only the second card! (Only the first one didn't work) Will try the Furmark now.

That means if the 1st card is attach, it does not let to computer too boot?

After the furmark on the 2nd card, try the first card in another PCIe port and see if it yields the same result or not.

Yes, with the 1st card attached or both I couldn't start up into windows (with the drivers installed).

I accidentially closed Furmark after 20 minutes and forgot to take a screenshot. Are the "furmark-gpu-monitoring" .csv or .xml of any use? Or the "FurMark_0001" .log? Either way it had a max temperature of 83°C (is that good or bad? xD) after a short while and started at about 42°C. Didn't notice any artifacts.

I will try the 1st card again tomorrow, I'm glad the 2nd card is at least working for now.

Apparently your first card is causing the problem. If it is within warranty, RMA it. Otherwise use the second card only.

Ok, so I connected the first card again (to another slot). It booted up into windows the first time and installed the "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter Drivers", finishing without errors. Then it prompted me to reboot, which I did. And after that I got bluescreens again. Reconnected the second card (without the first) and everything is fine again.

Conclusion: first card is broken? I don't think it's within warranty anymore though (not sure).

Not broken, but failing.

Standard VGA Graphics Adapter is not the display for which the card is there. It is just a port emaluated display, the nvidia chip is not playing any role there.
