Multiple BSODs, startup and idle issues in Win7 Pro 64bit
Hey guys. Background on my system: It's a Dell Latitude E6520, purchased July 2011, Win7 Pro 64-bit. Has been very stable for me until recently.
In the past few months I've managed to catch some malware, and a couple times successfully fixed the issue (or so I thought?) with Malwarebytes and other methods as needed. Lately, past few days, I"m not sure why, but the system has been unstable. I was getting multiple BSODs and thought I fixed the issue. If the computer goes on idle though, it can't be woken up and if I press the power button it'll shut right down (usually, if I was going to hard boot like this I'd need to hold it down a good few seconds). Powering back on brings me to the startup repair options. Only a couple times have I been able to get to the actual startup repair menu where I could run all the different options, such as fixboot, etc., and I have done that. Most of the time the system begins checking for startup issues and never gets past that point before I have to hard boot again. then I just select "start windows normally". I do have a startup repair disc I created, but I've already tried the options and it's not solving my issue.
Just now I searched for issues related to certain .dll files showing an error in the Event Viewer; sysmain.dll and wcp.dll are the ones I see under error code 1005 for two days ago and yesterday. Not sure what to do about this - unfortunately I cannot find my windows 7 disc (not even sure if my system shipped with one...) or my driver disc from Dell, and Dell tech support is essentially nonexistent once warranty expires. I have posted in the Dell support forum two days ago with no response yet. Part of the reason I had to post was that running the online Dell Diagnostics, the complete version, causes my system to BSOD (file attached below).
When I get the issue where the computer freezes with a blank screen (no BSOD), the system is humming as if the processor is under some type of heavy load, and I have to press the power button and re-boot the machine to get it to wake up.
Not sure if this is related but I'm running Avira and it always, always comes up with an error "Avira has stopped working" and I have to 'close the program" or "look online for a solution". I have disabled the Chrome extension.
In case not included in the log below, two of the BSODs had the following codes associated:
Process1_Initialization_Failed
Unmountable_Boot_Volume
Since then I have been able to run fixboot.
Hope someone can help me!
