BSOD when watching videos, opening browser windows (BCCode 116)

    Hi all,

I hope to get some help on the random BSODs I have been getting for a while now. I suspect it has something to do with my graphics card (Nvidia GT 545) but updating drivers doesn't seem to help. Sometimes the screen just goes black, with the monitor go on standby, other time it just restarts.

Display set up is I have a HP monitor via DVI, and a secondary (split display) to a Sony on HDMI.

I have narrowed the activities that cause more BSODs to:-

    1) watching videos (mainly 720p or higher, mp4/mkv) on VLC at 1.5x speed
    2) opening multiple Chrome browser windows (>8)

Error from Windows after the last restart.

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 18441

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: 116
    BCP1: FFFFFA80172A94E0
    BCP2: FFFFF8801775DA1C
    BCP3: FFFFFFFFC000009A
    BCP4: 0000000000000004
    OS Version: 6_1_7601
    Service Pack: 1_0
    Product: 768_1

    Thanks all!

    Let us have a check?

Apply 347.09 WHQL. NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL

Then stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark. Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it. Upload the screenshot for us. Also let us know if you experienced any crash or artifacts during the test.
