Black Screen Crash

    Black Screen Crash


    Hi
    I have recently upgraded to windows 7 on my netbook and since this I have been having problem with it randomly crashing the screen goes black and I can't do anything with it. Sometimes it restarts on its own and gives me an option to check out solutions but to no avail, I have also noticed that when windows is starting up, intially I have a black screen which eventually does rectify itself to the desktop... but its not right. Any ideas how I can put this right? I have minidump details if you need it...

    Could you zip the minidump and upload it for debugging?

    You might also want to upgrade your video driver

    And run a system file check to verify and repair

    to run type cmd in search>rightclick and run as admin>SFC /SCANNOW

    im struggling with the dmp file. I have run as administator but it is saying it is protected or no permission???

    Hi I run the the system check and it said that there is no integrity violations...

    You need to right click the file and go to the Properties > security tab and make sure the account youre using has full access to the file.

    Are you logged in as administrator or another username?

    As a suggestion, don't modify system directory permissions. Here's one way to attach minidumps:

    Ive updated the video driver and thta sees to have solved the black screen on start up and I have not crashed as yet so hopefully my problems are sorted. If they are thanks for all your help, if not I'll be back!!
