    BSOD when gaming on MSI gp60, stop code is 0XA5.

    I get a seemingly random BSOD when playing the games Warframe or Battlefield 4 on my laptop, it is an MSI gp60, nothing is overclocked and I am using the stock RAM. the .dmp file is attached, in the 2 games I get this BSOD in, I have always been running GPU-Z in the background and I minimize the games occasionally to check temps, I never got this BSOD before I started using GPU-Z so this may be related, also I have never seen this BSOD other than in these two games, not in any other games or while idling. I also never see any visual artifacts or glitches before the BSOD happens. I have been looking for help with this BSOD all over using Google and I have found nothing like my issue, so I decided to find help here. This forum seems helpful so I decided to try here, thanks in advance

    DMP file attached below

    EDIT: forgot to mention that every time the BSOD occurs, the STOP code is exactly the same, down to every parameter.

    You are having a BIOS bug. The BIOS is corrupt.
    Code:
    BugCheck A5, {1000, 0, ff0, 25}

    Probably caused by : ACPI.sys ( ACPI!MapPhysMem+cf )

    Followup: MachineOwner
    ---------
    And the BIOS is ...
    Code:
    BiosVersion = E16GDIMS.40A
    BiosReleaseDate = 07/04/2013
    The motherboard is ....
    Code:
    BaseBoardProduct = MS-16GD
    BaseBoardVersion = REV:1.0
    If you have got two years warranty from MSI, rush in hurry. Get the board replaced or repaired for free, time is ending up.

    If it is already out of warranty, ask a technician to flash your BIOS (dont attempt to do it if you dont have experience on it; because the process is risky).

    Apparently there is nothing else to do.

    So somehow my laptop came with a BIOS that doesn't match the motherboard? Is it a hardware or software problem? also, thank you I finally got some information on what this crash is, couldn't find anything on any other site.

    Somehow the BIOS got corrupted. A BIOS flash should do the job, provided the motherboard is not corrupted itself.

    Check the warranty way as soon as possible.

    I have noticed some abnormal behavior such as sound/brightness sliders not showing up, and the MSI buttons like the monitor sleep button not working anymore, could this be related?

    It seems to be related. A corrupt BIOS will not let you perform all the actions. There is a fair chance that gradually it will become totally unusable.
