BSOD, usually while playing games, sporadically
Hi guys first post here!
Attached you will find the dump files of pretty much all the BSODs that have happened
I can not figure out what exactly is the problem so Ill try to post all the relevant info that i can.
- my CPU, i7 4930k, is OCed at 4.1GHz at the beginning it was 4.3GHz but I lowered it thinking perhaps that was the reason for the sporadic BSODs but turns out they still happen.
These OCs where done using the tool provided by ASUS mobo Rampage IV black edition (AI Suite 3).
At a glance it looks like it only changes the multiplier from 12, which for some reason it came like that...., to 41 currently.
Sometimes when the computer BSODs it'll revert back to 12 multiplier and a proper restart will bring it back up to 41.
If the computer is forcefully reset it will also revert back to 12 making me have to restart it to make it go back up to 41.
When booting It does not detect the CPU fan for some reason but i can change its speed and it is on (all fans are on)
I monitor temps with MSI afterburner for GPU and Speedfan on a separate monitor (temps have never reached past 78 for any components ever!)
I have unparked my cores
I have left Prime95 and heaven benchmarks running 90 minutes simultaneously and individually without BSODs or higher than ~70s temps on all cores and GPU
I am running rainmeter in the background all the time as well as rocketdock
Currently sometimes when booting if not allotted some time to finish booting into windows it will freeze and will need hard reset. This didn't happen before which leads me to believe the problem is getting worse?
Like a couple months ago the symbol for the wireless network doesn't change from when networks are available (the one with the empty bars and yellow asterisk/star thing regardless of connection)
-my GPU sometimes is OCed with MSI afterburner(never messed with the voltages just the other options).
most of the time it is not OCed and the only changes in MSI when not OCed is a custom Fan profile
(I usually OC it for Battle field 4 to get better performance or other heavy games like skyrim modded; OCing is rare!) The OCs have been tested with heaven benchmark and seem stable
sometimes, this started maybe a week before, when i OC back to a tested OC the display driver will crash but it recovers gracefully and i can continue without a hitch and no BSOD right after that either.
-Memory was tested with memtest and some windows tool and everything came out fine as well
-PSU is corsair 860
When do the BSODs mostly happen?
-Since most of the time I am playing Left for Dead 2 this is where mostly i get the BSOD doesnt happen all the time and sometimes i leave the game running and play on and off for weeks before any BSOD happens
My game is modded but mostly re skins and high res skies and stuff.
-Battlefield 4 apparently exacerbates the issue since both times I've tried to play it it always results in BSOD
-BSOD can happen regardless of the computer being idle or under any load. It just might take longer if its idle but eventually it will happen
Thank you all for all your help! If I missed something which you want to know please let me know and ill update the post. Ill update if I remember anything else i might deem relevant.
I really appreciate any help thanks in advance
