My PC has just started playing up, it wouldn't boot properly (Fans started but nver got to windows boot screen) Having finally got it to run in safe mode and do a system restore it now boots but will sometimes just freeze and i'll get the BSOD.

    i've attatched the dmlog file.

    Any help appreciated. :)

Just an update on this, my pc now has no sound and it says there is no audio device installed.

    Code:
    15/03/2013 01:37:00 C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\nvlddmkm.sys
Update the display driver from Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

When done, Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it. Upload the screenshot for us. Also let us know if you have experienced any crash/BSOD and/or artifacts during the test.

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.

Thanks for the reply, i've updated the driver and ran the test, i got no crashes/BSOD and/or artifacts during the test and the temp levelled out at 76.

    screenshot attatched.

The only problem i have now is that there is no audio, the speaker on the desktop has a red cross through it and if i click on it to check for problem it says "audio device is disabled" but in control panel it isn't disabled.

I hope the physical connections are ok there. Then try VIA Audio Driver V6.0.1.7900 for Windows 32/64bit XP & 32/64bit Vista& 32/64bit 7 from Motherboard - M4A785T-M - ASUS

See if the audio works back. Let us know.

BTW, does the cam audio (Microsoft LifeCam Cinema) work?

There's no soundcard listed in your specs, could you verify whether you're using a soundcard, onboard sound or HDMI through your GPU please.

Go to Device Manager, expand the Sound tab. Do you have a showing next to your Hi Def Audio entry?

It is an onboard audio controller and it is the latest possible driver for it as posted in post #4.

Now it may be two possibilities. Either the windows installation got corrupt that it cannot access the audio device, or it is the audio chip on the motherboard that is failing itself.

I would suggest you to go for a clean install and see if audio (and other things) are working properly there or not.

If still not, then we have to decide that the onboard chip is failing.

*** Provided the physical connections to the audio device are properly connected.
