So going into my temp folder I found these two text files.
This looks like your problem:
I'll get back to you later today.Code:AllocatedBaseSize=8193 CurrentUsage=216 Description=C:\pagefile.sys InstallDate=20140222221939.870439-300 Name=C:\pagefile.sys PeakUsage=388 Status= TempPageFile=FALSE AutoReboot=TRUE DebugFilePath=%SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP Description= KernelDumpOnly=FALSE Name=Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate |C:\Windows|\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1 OverwriteExistingDebugFile=TRUE SendAdminAlert=FALSE SettingID= WriteDebugInfo=FALSE WriteToSystemLog=TRUE
Thanks!
I have requested help from another BSOD team member to see why the WriteDebugInfo value is set to False and how to change it. Bear with me and one of us will get back to you.
Can you follow this to double check you're set to write Small Minidumps.
- Open Advanced System Settings
- Click on Settings in Startup & Recovery
- Make sure both boxes indicated below are checked
- In the dropdown box ensure you're set to record Small Memory Dumps
Gav, I have a few minutes so decided to stop in and have a quick look.
If you don't get any .dmp files after confirmation in post #15, then I would look at MSE/other AV suites to see if its "holding" onto the dump write to disk:
This item is often associated with AVG, Panda and Kaspersky - not 100% sure about MSE, but then I found this:Code:Event[52660]: Log Name: System Source: Service Control Manager Date: 2015-04-04T18:25:57.061 Event ID: 7006 Task: N/A Level: Error Opcode: N/A Keyword: Classic User: N/A User Name: N/A Computer: HiroXPS Description: The ScRegSetValueExW call failed for FailureCommand with the following error: Access is denied.
Perhaps uninstall then reinstall????Code:Event[52621]: Log Name: System Source: Microsoft Antimalware Date: 2015-04-04T18:15:48.000 Event ID: 3002 Task: N/A Level: Error Opcode: Info Keyword: Classic User: N/A User Name: N/A Computer: HiroXPS Description: Microsoft Antimalware Real-Time Protection feature has encountered an error and failed. Feature: Network Inspection System Error Code: 0x80070005 Error description: Access is denied. Reason: The system is missing updates that are required for running Network Inspection System. Install the required updates and restart the computer.
If that doesnt help then it may be the hard disk - 0x7A's are often associated with failing HDD if there is also a 0xF4 (which we don't yet? have).
There are a few of these, but not sure what device it is referring to:
Code:Event[52630]: Log Name: System Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP Date: 2015-04-04T18:15:52.760 Event ID: 219 Task: N/A Level: Warning Opcode: Info Keyword: N/A User: S-1-5-18 User Name: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Computer: HiroXPS Description: The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_SCSI#DISK&VEN_JMCR&PROD_SD&REV_#000000#.
I followed the instructions in post #15. Strange thing I found was that that "non" was selected for writing debug information, but I had previously chosen for it to do the small memory dump when I was previously instructed too. Should I go through and try the DM Log Collector again? Or uninstall and then reinstall MSE first?
Also thank you both so much for all your help!
