BSOD when using internet? need help finding stop code, etc.

Hello, major thanks to anyone taking the time to read this! I have a sony vaio which for quite a while now has been crashing, I've googled enough to find out it's called 'BSOD' aka blue screen of death.. Unfortunately, I know almost nothing about computers sorry.. I've managed to make a zip folder (?) which I hope contains all the necessary information needed for one of you lovely people to help me! Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated

Hello, monkeypingo. I will try to help with your BSODs if I can. I looked at the files you uploaded and you only have one dump file dated today. 1 Dump file is not a lot to go on, but we'll give it our best shot. This is what the dump file is blaming it on. But first please fill out your system specs as well as you can. Details help us a lot.

Please fill out your System Specs

       Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. System Info - See Your System Specs

    The dump file lists

    Code:
    BugCheck D1, {6c, 2, 0, fffff88003cd4d7b}
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for athrx.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for athrx.sys
    Probably caused by : athrx.sys ( athrx+c9d7b )
    Followup: MachineOwner
That is your Atheros network adapter driver and should be able to be downloaded from Sony, for your particular Laptop model. This is the driver you currently have. You can see from the date it needs updating.

    Code:
     athrx
    start end module name

    Also listed was

     igdkmd64+0x2c4018
    Your current driver is

    Code:
    igdkmd64
    start end module name
    fffff880`03e26000 fffff880`04343600 igdkmd64 T (no symbols)
        Loaded symbol image file: igdkmd64.sys

That is your internal graphics driver and also needs to be updated. Try that and see if you get better results.

Thanks so much for replying!! You really have no idea what this means to me, I could actually cry. I have just spent the past hour or so attempting to figure out all the information you require.. I'm really sorry but I really don't know anything about my laptop other than its a Sony Vaio and I love it.. the model number is pcg-71911m if that's any help? product name - vpceh1j1e?
I am more than willing to try and learn a little bit about this if you're willing to teach me? Is there a special way I can get all of this information up on my own, without having to download some sort of programme to do it for me?
I've not long had another BSOD so I could upload more info on that?
Thanks again for all your help
    Tia

Did you update all the drivers that Steve mentioned in post #2?

How did the Sony manage to get a Windows installation intended for an HP, on it?

You missed the Atheros driver - follow Steve's advice in post #2.

That HP Windows installation shouldn't be on the Sony - what version of Windows was originally installed on the Sony?
