Random BSOD - Playing Games/Browsing Internet

Getting this BSOD that's been occurring for the past few months. I havn't looked much into it but it's pretty random when it occurs. I'll usually come home and see that my computer has crashed without any clear signs of why it did. I was just browsing the internet and running a WoW bot and it crashed but it'll happen even when i'm not playing any games.

Can someone take a look at my minidump files and give me some insight?

Hello, Ghudda. I will try to help you with this. I suspect it is not going to be simple. You have a lot of dump files, but I only checked the ones from 4/12 and 4/11. They all have the same bug code 0X124. ) X 124 basically is a generic hardware error, meaning there is some piece of hardware which has died or is dying, or that you have a very bad driver which is causing you hardware to act in a way that your CPU thinks it is dying. So, from 3 dump files I am getting these errors, which is unusual.

I find it difficult to believe that so many drivers are crashing in just 3 dump files. But, they are all older and do need updating. Please go to the web site for your motherboard and update all of the drivers.

Also, I need to know as much detail as possible about your Hardware. I need Manufacturer and model number, for as much as you know or can find. Please include your PSU and CPU Cooler too. This may help.

Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 passes to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it is best to run overnight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Once you have done that and I have your system specs, I will hopefully know more about what to do next.

Thanks for the help, essenbe. I updated those out of date drivers and being that the memtest takes quiet some time, i'll start running that tonight before I head to bed and will post results on that tomorrow. If I witness another BSOD today, i'll post the dump for that and see if there are any changes since I updated the drivers.

I'm a bit skeptical of one of my HDD possibly failing? I notice this strange issue where when, for instance, i'm typing something into search on the start menu or sometimes just opening a program, things freeze for a second and then I hear a click (followed by a noise reminiscent of the whine of a flash bulb on a camera if that makes sense?) from one of my Hard Drives (not my SSD I take it), and then it picks back up. Not sure if this is common or not or if my description is even clear.

Anyways, i'll run memtest tonight and let you know the results. Please let me know if there are any other suggestions in the mean time.

Lastly, I updated my system specs.

Another BSOD occured. The usual Warcraft botting while watching GoT via VLC player.

My HD/storage structure is as so:
(C: ) SSD hosts my OS, drivers, etc.
(E: ) HDD Stores all of my games
(F: ) HDD Remainder Software/Utility tools, etc.

It's hard for me to recall, but perhaps the BSOD's are occuring whilst specifically using programs stored on the E: drive such as Warcraft? What's the recommended way for me to check for HD failure?

I would recommend running both the short and the long testof Seatools for DOS on all Mechanical Hard drives. This will tell you how. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use Also run Check Disk on them Disk Check

So I ran SeaTools and Disk Check and received 0 errors. Again, i'll let memtest run overnight and see what comes up.

Ghudda, Your system Specs do not list what hard drives you have, but I noticed numerous errors for iaStor Data Management Service. If you are not using Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST), I would uninstall it. It is Intel's Raid driver but also contains the Intel AHCI driver.

Drives updated in system specs, sorry about that.

Yeah interesting point, I went ahead and disabled IRST in my BIOS and uninstalled it. I was running into issues with that earlier when I was trying to update it and it was simply unresponsive and I was unable to download an update from Intels site (website was screwy). Probably best that I evade it all-together.

Lastly, after disabling it in the BIOS, I had a notification on my taskbar pop up saying it installed one of the drivers for my Western Digital (Gaming) HDD.

if you recall I said it was Intel's Raid driver but also contained the AHCI Driver. That was what it was doing I suspect. When you uninstalled the AHCI driver, it had to replace it with Microsoft's AHCI driver. So, assuming your sata controller is in AHCI mode, that is quite normal. Although I am not sure what you mean by disabling it in bios.
