    BSOD netio.sys ntoskrnl.exe mostly 00000000'00000008

I have been getting BSOD since 15 April. It is quite bad, for example in past 1,5 hours the computer has BSOD'd 6 times. Seems to be totally random, although in past 1,5 hours I have not done anything else than used Chrome to find a solution for the problem. It also crashed when I used first time the Log Collector, although in that case it just went completely dark and froze.

    Thanks in advance,
    vello

Hello vello9999, and welcome to the forums. I am going to need you to do a few things for me.

First the files you uploaded are completely empty. Please run the www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html#option2 again. I know you are having problems, but we need those files to be able to see what is going on.

Please fill out your system specs in as much detail as possible, complete with the Manufacturer and model of the components. We often have to look up components and need that info. Please also include your PSU and CPU cooler as well. Hopefully this will help you.

Please fill out your System Specs

       Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. System Info - See Your System Specs

Please monitor your CPU and GPU temps closely.

If you can please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

    Thank you.

    1. New DM Log file is attached.

    2. I have updated my specs. I hope the information is sufficient, kindly let me know in case I need to add anything more.

    3. CPU and GPU temps are fine (this is purely by touching, I have not used any program for this).

    4. I did the cmd.exe sfc scans and reboots as you requested and after 3 reboots it still does not repair all files. Do you need the log file.

    5. My C:Windows/Minidump folder has 11 dmp files with the size of 262 144 b each from last evening and today's BSOD and 39 files in total. Does it mean that my computer is configured for Small Memory Dumps?

One more question - it all started (at least for my non-IT educated mind) with the bunch of windows updates about a week ago. I did the recovery and switched to manual updating. So currently there are 10 important updates and 7 optional waiting. What should I do with them? Wait until the problem is solved or install them?

Thanks again for taking the time to help me.

    Cheers,
    vello

There is nothing in the folder you uploaded but 3 dump files dated Feb 2012, Feb 2014 and Feb 2015. Please run Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions it should create a Zip Folder on your desktop. Upload that zip folder with your next post please. If you have important or recommended updates that are checked, install them.

I looked at the 2/2015 dump and found this

    Code:

This is your graphics Card driver and should be updated. Please update it from the asus site for your particular notebook.

Please update that to a current driver or install the current version which is ESET Smart Security 8. Or please uninstall it and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials (Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows)

While you are on the Asus Site for the graphics driver, please update all of your drivers, particularly your Lan and Wireless drivers. You are getting a lot of errors from NETIO which is Windows Network I/O controller.

vello9999, are you uploading the entire zip folder? This time I got more dump files but none of the other supporting documents that are always included with the Posting instructions. I really need all of the documents generated by the file.

Please click this and download it to your Desktop

It will download the DM log collector. Right click on the application and run as administrator. It will generate a .zip file on your desktop. Upload the .zip.

OK. I will finish with the updates and ESET renewal and come back to the DM Log.

The last time I downloaded the DM and ran it, the program generated on my desktop folder titled SFdebugfiles (which when clicked gave "location unknown" or similar error. I dont remember as now this folder is gone) and zip folder as I attached to my post. The zip folder on my desktop also only has dmp files.

    i will soon try again.

I looked at the last5 dump files you had which were dated today.

    Three of them listed this

    Code:
    BugCheck D1, {8, 2, 0, fffff88001625a1d}

That is your Fortinet FortiClient Antivirus Web Filter Driver. Can you explain why you have 2 Anti Virus programs running? That is a very big Do not ever do. You can't run 2 anti virus real time drivers at once. Please uninstall it and use this cleanup tool FortiGuard.com | Malware Removal Tools

    ESET again

ESET again. ESET was listed in 3 dumps also. Please uninstall ESET and use their removal tool How do I manually uninstall my Windows ESET product? - ESET Knowledgebase
Replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials (Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows)

I use my computer also for remote access to my work computer. FortiClient was installed by our IT guys I guess because they use FortiClient VPN for the remote access. I have had it disabled and used ESET as the AV. I guess if I uninstall it I will lose the VPN as well which is a problem.

Should I just keep FortiClient as the only AV and uninstall ESET?
