BSOD while playing different games, error 0x00000116

Yeah it's been doing it every once in a while, usually after a few hours of continuous playing , games it's done it on so far are; Witcher 2 and GTAV. I have a feeling it's either the GPU itself or the beta driver I'm using, but I want to be sure first.

thanks in advance for the help.

Sorry this one slipped through the cracks, the BSOD team are pretty busy.

Your STOP 0x116s are VIDEO_TDR_ERROR (Timeout Detection Recovery) which point to a problem with your GPU whether it's the driver, power to the card, heat or the card itself among other things.

The first step is to try a different driver. Download the last known working driver from here and save it to your desktop. Download DDU and follow Display Driver Uninstaller: How to use to remove all traces of your current driver. Reboot and install the downloaded driver.

Test the system and report back.

Okay I did what you said and it was okay for a day or two but i just blue screened again a minute ago while I was launching Witcher 2, didn't even happen after playing for a while , happened right at the opening cinematic.

Can you run the DM Log Collector tool again to catch the new dumps and upload the newly created logs please.

It's another 0x116. Can you report the temperatures of the card at idle and under load.

at idle it's 34C and under load during furmark stress test it hits as high as 86C... But I've never seen it hit that high while actually playing games, usually it's around 70-75C range while playing.

Also I didn't mention this before but I have overclocked the card a bit.

I don't know if that will be any help at all but it just crossed my mind a second ago and i thought it'd probably be relevant.

Yes it's probably relevant. Is it still overclocked? If so revert back to stock clocks and test for stability.
