Frequent BSOD for no particular reason

    Hi everyone,

as I mentioned in the title, lately I've been getting quite a few BSOD for no apparent reason. I don't know if it is related, but every now and then I get some "has stopped working" alerts from various programs, such as origin and steam, but also, and specially, windows explorer. I did update some drivers since then, but BSOD keep appearing.

I hope I followed all instructions correctly for this new thread, please tell me if I didn't. If you need any other information just ask and I'll do my best to answer (bear with me, I'm Italian and quite uninformed in computer science )

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi Ghebbis.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors. Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

If it does not show any error, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers. Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

       Information
    Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

       Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

       Tip

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Hello, Ghebbis and welcome to the Forums. I will try to help you. Please do something for me first. We need all of the components in your computer along with Manufacturer and Model. We often have to look up components and need that info. Please include your PSU, CPU cooler, hard drives and Motherboard and anything else. This may help you to accomplish that and place them in the correct place.

Please fill out your System Specs

       Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. System Info - See Your System Specs

4 of your last 5 dump files list this as the cause.

    Code:
    MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (1a)
        # Any other values for parameter 1 must be individually examined.
    Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000005002, The subtype of the bugcheck.
    Arg2: fffff70001080000
    Arg3: 0000000000000ab2
    Arg4: 00040aa9fffffffe
If you are overclocking anything, please set everything back to defaults.

    Please Run Memtest86+

       Information
Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 passes all run at the same time to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it is best to run overnight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

First of all thanks a lot for your answers Arc and Essenbe! I was overclocking and as I set everything back to default I must have done something wrong 'cause my pc couldn't even turn on due to cpu fan problems. So I brought my pc to a hardware shop to take care of that. When I'll get it back I'll make sure to follow your suggestions (if the problem persists of course).
    Thanks again,
    Ghebbis

P.s: I also added other system specs, hopefully all the ones you need!

I hope they didn't charge you much. It's just one click in the bios to fix the fan error. Many of the problems you describe sounded like a bad overclock. That's why I added that line. I'm glad you have it running again. Hopefully your problems are fixed now. When you have used it long enough to where you think your problem is solved, please mark this thread as solved.

Actually I haven't got it back yet..but I sure hope they won't charge much if it was that simple!
I overclocked following instructions a guy gave me on Tom's Hardware forum, so probably that's where I messed up.. The weird thing is that I overclocked about 5/4 months ago and didn't notice any problems 'till the last 2 weeks or so.. Anyway when I get the pc back I'll see if everything works and I'll make sure to mark the thread solved if case be.

    Thanks,

    Ghebbis

Turns out my RAM was broken.. Probably related to overclock issues. I don't know if I can ask this here, but can someone suggest me a good overclock guide/forum I could read to do it correctly? It's so I can justify my Macho Rev. A purchase.
    Thanks for the help anyway.

I dont think a malfunctioning RAM is overclock related .... RAM modules may fail anytime and anywhere.

essenbe is a wonderful overclocker himself. He can guide you for it.

You may go to https://www.sevenforums.com/pc-custom...-overclocking/ and ask for suggestions, too.
