BSOD while installing programs, CI.dll page fault

Hi,

I've just ran into one of my first issues in a long time (computer specs in the profile), but I was trying to install some programs today and whenever I get to the actual 'installation process' my computer BSODs.

I get the page_fault_in_nonpaged_area error and then it says CI.dll and a bunch of other stuff. I know my way around the computer until it gets to things like this; I haven't had to deal with BSODs ever to be honest.

I can restart my computer and all will be fine, but when I try to install anything I get that error screen and it's pretty frustrating! I did a full scan with BitDefender and MalwareBytes and found nothing.

I do have my Windows 7 disk readily available so if I need to replace any files, that would be great. I haven't tried reformatting or anything to that effect yet, as I would like to keep my files in tact if possible.

I have attached the necessary zip file. If there is any other information I can provide, I would be glad to.

Both the dumps report the same thing, it is something to do with this thing:

Start Menu\Programs\ESEA\ESEA Client

Not being a gamer I dont know what is this, but it is running from an unusual location:

\??\c:\users\justin\appdata\local\temp\eseadriver2.sys

Which gives a hint that it might be a virus or malware faking the name of something else.

Scan the system for possible virus infection with the following programs.

Download and install CCleaner, and run it. It will wipe the temps out.

Hi,
Thanks for your response! ESEA is a client that is used to play Counter Strike. It recently had an update where the driver would be running at kernel level, which is supposedly better for their anti-cheat system.

I was not able to locate that error message specifically so I appreciate you bringing that to light. I visited their forums after reading this and it seems the client is causing some BSODs during various computing tasks. I am away from the computer right now, but it also seems as though there was an update to that client.

I will update the client as see if everything works as normal, and if not will uninstall the program and delete it's drivers to see if that helps as well (which I now believe will).
