BSOD error msg: bad_pool_header unable to boot into windows

I have no idea what caused this. I was using the laptop, left to run errands (laptop on) and upon returning it was trying to "repair" windows.

It is unable to restore to a previous point
It is unable to restore from the Repair Disk I made 2 years ago

    unknown bug check 19
    Paramaters: 0x22, 0xfffff8a000a,0x1,0x0
Repair Action: Sys file integrity - check and repair
Result: Failed Error Code = 0x490

I ran memory check, no problems (Passed Warrenty ID #100000)
I ran HD check no problems

This was the result of some (?) check or repair I tried to run:
    Startup Repair Offline
    Problem Signatures:
    01 - 6.1.7600.16385
    02- 6.1.7600.16385
    03- 21199726
    04-
    05- auto failover
    06- 6
    07- 0x19
    08-

    OS Ver: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
    Local ID: 1033

    STOP: x0019

In the "repair/recovery" choices, through CMD I can see that my photos are still intact in a C:\Windows.old

I am able to move around and "view" all directories.. but of course, I am unable to open individual files.

Since I am unable to boot into windows, I don't have access to the DVD drive to burn the pix.

I ran Bootrec.exe and tried fixmbr (no difference)

I tried using the OEM Windows 7 disk (used to upgrade this laptop from WindowsXP in 2013), but I do not have an option to repair, just reinstall. I am afraid it will overwrite the PHOTOS.. which can not be an option.

    1. Is it possible to rename Windows.OLD back to the active OS? What might the ramifications be?

    2. I reckon I could remove the drive, make it external to another PC and burn from there.. a lot of work.

Thank for "looking" at my problem and trying to help me resolve it.

Try to boot into Safe Mode ... if it works then follow Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions and attach the resulting data with your reply post.

to boot into safe mode. However, I did follow the links on how I could force it into safe mode. Here's my dilemma. Whatever happened, has created a "new" directory of X:

When I pick F11, I can get to LAUNCH SYSTEM REPAIR. After selecting, it says it can't repair automatically. Under this window I can select VIEW ADVANCED OPTIONS FOR SYS RECOVERY AND SUPPORT which leads me to SYS RECOVERY OPTIONS and command prompt. I've tried all the other options before command prompt.

Selecting command Prompt opens a window from ADMINISTRATOR: X:\windows\system32

    Here's my question:

Should I move forward with Step 4 and if so, which directory am I issuing this command from?

    Safe Mode

Using OPTION 3, I ran this on both C and X... neither one has SAFEBOOT it stops after NX

Also the identifier says "default" not "current" as shown in your photo

I've attached pix of what I see.

    Thanks for helping me.

X prompt is the RAM drive. Dont worry. Did the Option One not work for you?
